I see a lot of posts and articles that explain Rome 2 in terms like, "...just like in Shogun 2..." or "...is similar to how XYZ worked in Empire..." Etc.

As someone who is coming to Rome 2 from Rome 1, having never played any of the games in between, could someone highlight the differences? Things that might seem strange or different or that I should otherwise be aware of?
