    Multiple Turns Per Year

    This is still very much a work in progress, but I have successfully changed the campaign to 2 turns per year, with proper aging for characters. No visual season variations have been added, as the database tables can't be edited yet. However seeing as there are some remnant files which seem to have carried over from Shogun 2, it might be possible to get seasons working eventually.

    Rome 2 doesn't have the startpos in a pack file, nor does it like it in a pack file, so for installation this file has to replace the original, which is located wherever you have the game installed, following this path 'Total War Rome II\data\campaigns\main_rome'.

    Spartan, how stable would you say it is? I really don't mind the seasons at this point although it would be a nice bonus if you can get them in. By the way, it looks like this is the first mod out! Any chance you can slow the battles down by 60-80%? Also, how about larger units? I'm sure these are what people would like to see the most. Good work!

    It should be perfectly stable as it is only a small edit to the start position file so it assigns 2 turns to a year instead of 1. As I said in the OP database tables can't be edited yet, so your other requests can't be done quite yet.

    The first mod good news that seasons may be able to be implemented too.

    Shogun 2 allowed esf files in packs, but CA's gone back to the old ways with Rome 2?

    Seems so, I tried putting it in a pack file, but the game just ignored it and loaded the original one.

    Having one turn as summer-esque and one turn as winter would be cool if that is what you meant.

    2 turns per year would probably be perfect. Generals die too quickly I finish a campaign and they're gone before they can be used again.

    Does it work with Spartan Campaign, I am asking since we're placing this file in Campaign/Main Rome, I don't know!

    It works with all campaigns except the prologue.

    The turn per year value, using ESF Editor, is located in CAMPAIGN_STARTPOS/COMPRESSED_DATA/CAMPAIGN_ENV/CAMPAIGN_MODEL/CAMPAIGN_CALENDAR. YOu normally see 1 / 0 / 0. Change 1 to 2 to get 2 turns per year. Back in time we had to use an hex editor to change this in Empire TW Hope it helps.

    Thanks for the info! And thanks for the mod as well. This was my biggest gripe in the the run up to the game. My armies taking 10 years to march out of Italy was driving me crazy.

    You've done it again spartan_warrior! I'll definitely check this out at some point and I hope someone can eventually get seasons to work to their full extent (visual change on campaign map and battle map) I laugh at all those people that say Shogun 2/Rome 2 aren't moddable enough

    Do the scripted events coinside with the new time table? Things scheduled to appear on say 250bc will still be on 250bc?

    Personally, I am too, as that is really what the campaign is currently balanced for. I really just did this as a test, I wanted to make sure character aging and everything still worked right. I will further be making tests to see if seasons can be implemented, but has to wait currently. At least 2 turns per year and seasons will be important for some mod ideas I want to do in the future if we get the tools.

    I released this as I know there were those who wanted more than 1 turn per year.
