I had to make an account so I could pop in here and say thanks for figuring this out. Much appreciated.
Is there are way to have more than 40 units on the battlefield at once?
Is there a way not to let the banner black out? Are you working on a way to figure this out epic? btw, we all very much appreciate your quick thinking on this!
the only issue with using such a large army under one general that ive seen is attacking a city from the water. Most maps don't have enough spaces to land 40 units on the spaces available for beach landings.
Excuse my ignorance, is it possible to release this as a mod?
This tutorial as of now is a guide that only edits your specific saved Campaign file, therefore the file is specific to your PC/campaign which makes the changes only accessible by the user.

Is there a way to change this in the .pack files?
will this also be possible to do it from the startpos.esf file, so you will have this option available from the start of a new campaign? I tried to do it but it does not seem to work ..
best of regards
@LiquitHQ
This tutorial will show immediate changes on turn one. Just start a campaign, save it as soon as the audio intro ends. Close the game and then follow the instructions in the OP. Make sure when you edit the land and naval limits from 20 to 40, they turn red. And be sure to save after.
When you reload the save game you should click your general and see 5/40 instead of 5/20. Then you're good to go.

I am not sure what you are asking? There are other mods out there that allow for more men per unit card in both custom and campaign gameplay. Custom gameplay it is fine but I personally steer clear of these during campaign gameplay due to the transport/naval disembarking bug that has yet to be resolved.
Yeah they use it, I posted a picture on page 2 of an enemy AI army recruiting 31/40 units per army (keep in mind that was patch 1.0 when the AI's recruitment priorities were dreadful).
I've found this is 40 unit method so far to be the best way to increase the scale of battles because there have been zero bugs involved from my testing or reported to me. Only issues is the half blackening of the unit banner that represents the other 20+ units you recruit which blacks out the faction banner in a full 40 stack army, and the UI unit cards take up majority of the screen, but even with 20 units I still play with them minimized.

Have x2 soldiers/units in the custome battle mod for exemple.
Do you know have do it ?![]()
This is amazing epic28. You are the reason that I will buy this game eventually. Does this work for Shogun 2 Total War? Also this topic NEEDS TO BE STICKIED!
