    Default Squalor Is Hell

Squalor is my game as the Iceni seems to be terrible, as Britannia has a squalor modifier of -32, which keeps leading to rebellions and I don't know how it got like that. How would I decrease it?

    Anyone else has squalor trouble?

I think the solution is to conquer more regions. When I conquered my first I had a -26 or something per turn, when I took another, third (of the four) region in that province, suddenly I got alot less squalor.

A lot of the squalor could come from upgraded harbor buildings maybe?

    If so demolish them.

It's a little annoying how squalor seems to come more often than public order, but it is possible. I've now got control of the British isles and attacked the Iberian peninsula. My fleet went to discover Carthage, Rome and Greek cities along with Egypt for the lucrative trade. This has made it possible for me to have the lowest tax rate with a high income still as well as my home forces to occupy a few cities in the south to help public order.

It's a bit of a pain as the barbarians but I guess that is the idea.

Squalor is......interesting at best. The rate that you get Squalor compared to stability is quite fast, it can get to be a real pain as I have to build building whose bonuses (some of the shrines/groves for instance) I don't need at all just so I get the stability bonus, I nearly stopped playing as in one turn my Squalor was so high that I was getting -25 a turn and there was nothing I could do, I could demolish and build buildings with stability but I would start losing money and food from every hole created by Squalor. I really think it needs a rebalance. Or at least some new things need to be added.... like Janitors or soap Air Drops.

Seems to me like TCA tried to simulate the major instability in the early game which can only be controlled late game after techs have been researched. It makes sense historically but It doesn't make for a less than frustrating gameplay.
