Does CA release its games knowing that modders will fix them?
Does CA release its games knowing that modders will fix them? I'm serious. It seems like a sound business strategy. The modders have to buy the game in order to mod it, and the people who enjoy the modders' work have to buy the game too. CA wins in both circumstances, plus they pay less in overhead labor costs because they don't have to pay anyone to fix their games. However, it's a lose situation for the modders. The modders, who are doing all the work, for free, lose. Badly in this business exchange.

They did say they were looking to make the game very moddable and sought to work with the community in this. They'll most likely be making future patches addressing community grievances as reports come in. We do have CA staff members in these forums, too.
