How to install without Steam ??

The boxed set DVD's arrived and the first thing the installer wants to do is install Steam. Why do you need to have steam installed if the box contains 3 DVD's of content ? Its bugging me already that I'm forced to install an app and service that I do not want installed on my rig.

You can't. you are forced to use steam if you want to play this game.

Right.. if I had known that I would have not have bought the game. Whats the point of the box set and 3 DVD's if your forced to use Steam (spyware) .. to be able to install and then play the game? Who ever thought of that needs a serious thumping.. a wee visit to CA's office may be due.

Steam isn't even close to be Spyware, no idea where you're getting that from.

Yeah, all Total war games have required steam since Empire.

It's your own fault for not checking that before buying the game. It's not like it was a secret.

At this point I'd try out steam because it won't cost you anything extra. I don't like the idea myself but Steam has for the most part been okay. The only fault is very long downloads unless you got fast internet.

It says it on the box that it requires steam....im literally looking at it right now its on the back. Honestly steam isnt that bad I hated it at first and I mean HATED it, but now I honestly love it.

Steam is required to install this game. As has been said, this has been the case since Empire: Total War was released.
