Bad lag with lots of units even on medium settings

Medium through extreme I am getting lag with lots of units on the screen. FPS in the teens to 28 FPS. When I go away from the large mob of units i shoot back up to 70+ fps. I uploaded 2 pictures, maybe my CPU isnt set up properly or my ram? I dont know....

8gb DDR3 1600mhz
780 gtx
256gb SD samsung pro 840

I'm getting the same issue, except with worse specs. Oddly enough, I have about the same FPS as you. CA'd better patch this performance quick, because it seems to be ruining the game for the majority of people.

Welcome to the club. My 670's in SLI mode dont work. Game uses only 1 card, and even with 1 card I get terrible lag. We need to wait for patch / new driver.

Btw I love your avatar, how terrible does that look? lol I noticed that too when i put it on medium settings, looks so bad.

Maybe Nvidia can help too with a new driver and what's up with these forums? They have been having issues forever now and still haven't figured out how to not crash/freeze etc?

Rome 2 makes the forums lag too, it's spreading its influence

Have you tried installing the directx from the Rome 2 folder? Also, if your video card can't handle directx 11, just put false in the preferences since it forces it. I also found that this ... http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/5695/? gives a little FPS boost and makes end turn faster. I haven't tried it during battle, but it should be good? I found these hints on the Rome 2 forum. Someone probably said it here, but meh.
