No "soft shadows" option = awful preformance. Great..
Why the heck did they remove the soft shadows option?? It was there in Shogun 2, and it alone gave me 15 fps extra by disabling.
I enjoyed playing Shogun 2 with everything on max, 150% unit sizes, thanks to being able to turn off the nVidia-unfriendly soft shadows setting.
Then they decided it was a great idea to simply remove that setting from the options menu AND the preferences file.
Great. An unoptimized game becomes even more unplayable now.
With that setting off at the very least it would have been playable.

Re: No "soft shadows" option = awful preformance. Great..
I think they will add it in later, just like AA is only on or off. And AA wasn't even there to begin with in Shogun 2 but was added later, although atm... even if i put everything on low, i drop down to 8fps. I don't get how they could mess it up this much, they have used the same engine since Empire. Shouldn't they be able to release a stable game on that engine by now.

I know.. I expected it to run like Shogun 2, because.... You know.. It's the same engine, with more opportunity for even further optimization since Shogun.
But no, they had to go and F it up instead of being happy with the graphics they had.
