Default Total War: Rome II Hosted modifications

Dear TWC admins, time to open up the section for Rome 2 mods, we need it to save this game .

Seriously, I know that someone has already done some minor modifications, it could be helpful to have them all in one place

Best mod would be to rename Total War Rome RS to Total War Rome 2

Absolutely not. The first new forum should be "Rome II Mod Threads" and the first post would hopefully be "Bugfixer1's* critical fixes to RTW2"

*Bugfixer1 is an actual user name of a previous member. I can't recall what TW product he fixed but he fixed it good - about TWO days after release.

Well those elitist modding douchbags were the reason for me to join this site in a time when modding still was possible. By the way are there any great mods like Third Age, Broken Crescent or Stainless Steel, Roma Surrectum or Europa Barbaorum etc. etc. out there for the warscape engine? Why not? (I know the answer).

i'm not talking about the people who made the mods (its their free time so why can i be angry at them?), i'm talking about the people who go all over the forums and say "DONT BUY THE GAME VANILLA WILL SUCK MODS WILL FIX EVERYTHING LET US MAKE THE GAMES CA!!!!!!!!"

Best mod would be to mod the minds of people here that are ranting and whining continuosly and it's really annoying. The game do not need a mod right now but only to be played.

The game is even pre- pre alpha state. The game in the alpha seemed better than it is now.

@Baldrick13 Yes you are - you called them douchebags if i'm not mistaken. No need to use capitals, it will not enforce your argument. Where are we now? Waiting for a patch or waiting for a bugfixer Mod?

@Green Tea Well said. Good examples of Mods as well. All the Mods you mentioned have delivered something unique.

Whoa, I think this is kind of "putting the cart before the horse". The new game looks awesome. Lets give people some time to enjoy the original game before we demand mods. Also, before we have hosted mods or a mods forum, we should get a "mod workshop". This game is brand new, so we first have to learn how to modify it. We'll need to develop a few file converters to really begin modding. My main concern is with the campaign map. Let me tell you from experience that making a mod takes a lot of time.

"What is the most cowardly and shameful thing in human conduct? It's when people with power, and those who flatter them, hide in safe places and extol war--people who force patriotism and self-sacrifice on others, sending them to the battlefield to die. For the sake of peace in the universe, before we continue this fruitless war... mustn't we first start by exterminating such evil parasites?"

The big thing I want to see modded is the stupid arbitrary army limit. Economy has and always will limit the sizes of armies.

But I don't think -any- mods are possible yet, as A.) we need to be able to unpack the data file (which, AFAIK, is impossible at the moment) and B.) we need some kind of mod-manager utility to activated the modded .pak files.

The person that makes a Total UI Overhaul mod gets a bunny or kitten, their choice.
