Anyone else noticed the Battle of Carthage is nothing like the alpha they showed?

I realise it was an alpha, but that makes it even more galling the fact that it looked exciting even back then yet now it is some lame ass battle. 1. There is no introductory speech from the general guy on the boat. 2. You dont have an AI ally who is bombarding the city for you. 3.You cant actually position your ment behind most of the wooden forts. 4. There is nowhere near as many legions as showed in that battle 5.There is only 1 siege tower not the like 7 with the epic attack in the alpha. 6.The city is ABSOLUTELY nowhere near as big as portrayed. It doesn't even look as big. In the alpha video, it looked like it stretched on for miles. Not only has the look of the map got smaller, but most of the city is actually inaccessible. It might as well be a skybox like in Call of Duty or battlefield. Im really disappointed. That footage way back in the reveal was what got me so hyped. I was longing to play this battle for like a year, and now that ive got my hands on it, it falls flat on its face.

Even the art style has changed for the worse. I remember the alpha had a more menacing gritty art tone and style. Oh and to top it off, I remember specifically a telling quote from the end of the carthage reveal "And remember this is only alpha so the game will look so much better further on". HAH. Give me the alpha back anyday.

This game has a lot to fix before we can play it properly.
I would start by fixing the stats and AI and then the emersion by imediatly fixing the damn ui and unit cards.

They boasted about the huge budget and it looks like it was all spent on fake 'gameplay' videos (Carthage and Teutoburg were not real gameplay) and marketing. They have hit a new low point and with the next TW game being a 'fantasy' outing it will only get worse. CA don't have a clue what to do with this franchise and are wasting it's huge potential. Rome I was the best of the series but suffered from many shortcomings but instead of improving the game they just shifted into one time zone after another, without ever getting the basics right. The last TW game I bought was Empire and I haven't been tempted by anything they've done since, the silly special abilities, armies like specks of dirt, ridiculous fast pace of battles, less and less depth in the campaign map (traits and construction options removed or nerfed). Now 1tpy, capture points, weird 100 mile across cities on campaign map, no seasons, arcade explosions, flaming javelins, flaming HA's, glowing power-ups..... CA you really wasted the TW concept, you have destroyed the series, are you proud of your work?

I got robbed of $60. I will probably never pre order a game again(at least total war games). If your really disappointed i would recommend the De Bello Mundi mod for Kingdoms. Its basically everything we wanted from rome 2, with the sacrifice of naval battles, etc.

Seriously, is this all anyone does is focus on trying to find things to shout about. I didn't have any high expectations for this game, that's not because I thought it would be crap but because I don't set the bar high for games. It takes a little getting use to, but I think this is a good game and they have done well on it aswell. Anyway it doesn't matter what anyone say's you guy's will still moan about the game and happily turn this in to a rant topic. While your all about the game, i'm off to have fun playing it.
