Default Talking about a close victory...

Playing Romans on H/H, just captured Cisalpine Gaul in a few turns and placed forts with a few mercenary units in them on all the choke points. Those pesky Gauls weren't very happy with that and kept sieging my forts with half stacks of warbands and swords. The army defending the northern provinces was fighting tracians in the east so when a half Gallic stack attacked my fort with a ram i only had 1 general, 2 merc warbands and 1 merc swords.

I lined them up behind the gate and as soon as the gate was down the massacre began.
After my force were pretty much done for they started routing to the flag and the fight continued.

Luckily the Gallic captain got in the fight when my forces were half way on the road to defeat and got himself killed. With one last cav charge from my general the gauls got so scared that the first units started routing. It didn't take long before approx. 200 gauls ran away from my 15 men strong army.
It seems that those merc gauls are really good at healing units...
    Below are some screens...

    got scared?
    massacre
    wave them goodbye
    close victory

it looks more like a Pyrrich victory to me.... and thats true... if you rout 2 enemy units in a row and fast then the entire army runs ! but there is a 80% there that the units that have much gonna come back and kick your ass

Funny pics. You should post them in the coliseum maybe in the picture of the week?
