    Default Prisoners of war

I am not sure if this has been said before but I was taking a look at the game's Steam achievements and one of them was to "release 1000 battle captives". Thus, I am assuming that this is a new feature which sounds pretty cool to me.. what do you think??

It looks like it will be a medival 2 type system exsept ransom is replaced by enslavement.

I'm pretty sure this is not a new feature. If you played medeival total war 2 once a battle ends you get to choose to execute, ransom or release the prisoners. In rome's 2 case... enslave, execute. Nothing new here, but I'm glad this feature is back.

I saw a live stream earlier today & this came up. There were three options from which I remember were release, enslave, or kill all of the captured troops.

I wish there was a way to hang on to prisoners untill the end of a war or for prisoner swaps, Killing them just seems wrong but freeing them obviously won't do unless I think i am about to make peace. Most of the prisoners in my campaigns are headed to a life of slavery

You 'll need to see that you don't over populate your cities with slaves, i believe this triggers revolts at some point.

Don't know why captives were ever taken out.

Funny enough, I've never taken captives in any of my battles. I would run down entire routing units and when the battle's over I'd have 0 captives. I have yet to take a single prisoner...is it a tech you have to unlock or something?

    Sounds strange.

I usually take a fair amount of captives during battle myself, but I don't seem to notice any consistency.

Not sure. I played as the Iceni, and I never got a single prisoner in my battles (They take -%50 battle prisoners, it says.)

But playing as Sparta, I get a few with every battle. Not sure how, though.

Oh, really? Because I was playing as the Iceni, too.
