Icon5 Have Anybody With Itching Modding Hands Opened R2TW's Data Packs?

If my memory serves me right, some of Shogun2 first mods are made even before The Game itself was released, based on the Demo...

So, did anybody peeked into the data of R2TW using older PFM?
The simple ability to Extract and Insert itself should open some modding possibilities...

Furthermore, some simpler db tables may be even unchanged from the older Warscape games (There are some tables unchanged from ETW-NTW-S2TW)

...Ah, Me myself will not even be able to touch it until November or so...but I can say Simple mods like Recolors, Names, Cards, Textures, Unit Variant, Icons, Buttons, Unit Multiplier, Projectile Trails, Particle Effects, Campaign Effects and Bonuses, Diplomatic Values, Campaign AI Variables, Battlefield Variables, Unit Speed and Mass, shall appear in matter of days or weeks...

...Well, I believe TWC toolmakers like Daniu, taw, husserlTW, and T.C are maybe even already started working on new community modding tools...

Looks like Radious already started...I wonder what things stays similar with Shogun 2...

Ah, Projectile Trails are toggleable in Options menu - No need for modding...

However, There seems to be problems in increasing unit size through unit multlipliers in preferences script....

Yes, i hope PFM will get quick update, from what i saw it should not be hard unless CA prepared some tricks for us. :-)

    Radious, are these still unchanged?

    Are animations still in .txt?

Do the engine/artillery rigidmodels still rigid_model_v2? or is it already rigid_model_v3?

Can you open unit_variant? I'm curious.

which of the relatively simple db tables have changed?
    _kv tables
    battle_entities (unit speed and mass)
    building_effects_junction
    campaign_ai tables
    campaign_variables
    cdir tables
    diplomacy and diplomatic tables
    effect tables
    faction_uniform_colours
    gun_types
    names tables
    projectile_explosions
    technology_effects
    uniform_to_faction_colours
    unit_abilities
    warscape_animated
    warscape_rigid

    .loc tables

Most of them are still the same, are they? These are relatively unchanged between ETW-NTW-S2TW...

I'm sure tables like unit_stats and projectiles are definitely changed, no doubt about it.

...Um...most likely in data.pack; campaigns>[campaign name]>scripting.lua and startpos.esf....Well, that's in Shogun 2; but most likely Rome 2 would not be radically different... Radious, you have Gifted your S2TW?

Any chance I could bribe you to get basic stuff in the PFM like unit_stats_land, units, and projectile editing working before that with a copy of XCOM: Enemy Unknown?

I've got the source downloaded from sourceforge so I can poke around in it myself, but I really don't have the foggiest idea where to start looking. Plus it looks a bit over my head

Please slow down the battle speed by at least 50%. Thank you.

I couldn't get PFM to open any of the pack files in Rome2. We are all gonna have to wait until the tools get updated.
    *twiddle thumbs*

I have only played a few years into the game and I am already bored enough to start wanting to mod.

Ok, managed to start pfm again, but PFM cant read any single Rome 2 pack file. It says unknown header type so PFM must be updated before we cana ctually open any packfile of Rome 2 data folder.

The PFM doesn't even able to browse the directories inside the pack files?

    Hey so funny story...

Game still uses esf files and the esf editor can edit them. Know what that means? NO MORE ONE TURN PER YEAR.

    Testing now!!

I'll fiddle around and see what I can do with the unit cards.
