Default RS 2.6 - Editing the EDB

I noticed when you open up a factions folder and open the EDB file a message on top states:

;This file is generated from a spreadsheet
;Please do not modify by hand
Is that an internal thing for the devs only? Where can I find the spreadsheet to edit?

I keep getting CTD every few turns or so with Carthage, Pergamon and Seleucids (I assume I'll get the CTD with all others also). I did manually edit the EDB, does that have something to do with it?? After a certain amount of turns there is no way getting around the CTD and the game becomes unplayable.

I hate playing with assassins in my campaigns so I deleted all instances of them and spies in the EDB. I also removed the "
    and hidden_resource area11 and hidden_resource r9
" for my troops. Will that cause my games to CTD all the time?

Probably the cause of your CTDs as it's then likely that your recruitment queues are overloaded.
We don't have a spreadsheet for this - that message is an original legacy from the game developers.

    Hi Tone,

Thanks for responding. What does it mean for my recruitment queues to be overloaded? How do I stop that from occurring? Why would not being able to recruit spies/assassins in, I believe turn 15 to 25, cause it to CTD?

    Sorry you were referring to
    and hidden_resource area11 and hidden_resource r9
    weren't you?

So that means too many men to recruit in all my settlements? Or a particular settlement?

Sorry I can't edit my posts. I am reinstalling the game, I will try and not have all regions being about to recruit all troops. I will however delete spies/assassins. See how that goes lol.

When editing EDB do not delete but rather coment out lines using ";" - it is easier to undo changes if they cause problems. When the game reads EDB it ignores lines starting with ";".
