    Default The Big Picture: 85/100

On Metacritic, Rome 2 has an 85% average with 17 positive reviews and 2 mixed reviews. That seems like a very far cry from the doom some people are already spouting on the forums. An 85% is a goal any game would love to accomplish, especially considering there have been no patches so far. And note, this is without many of the big name reviewers such as IGN weighing in, and I would imagine that average will increase when they do.Based on the average so far, it seems to me that the general opinion is that Rome 2 is a very good game with some weaknesses such as AI and bugs, which can at least be partially fixed by future patches.

    What!?!?

A new Total War game with lots of bugs, laughably bad A.I., annoying new game "features," and missing gameplay mechanics!?!?!?

Why, surely, something like this has never, never, never happened before.
And if it has, why, surely it's never, never, never happened more than once.
And if it has, why, surely it's never, never, never happened more than twice.
And if it has, why, surely it's never, never, never happened more than three times.

    Surely.

    Surely

"What is the most cowardly and shameful thing in human conduct? It's when people with power, and those who flatter them, hide in safe places and extol war--people who force patriotism and self-sacrifice on others, sending them to the battlefield to die. For the sake of peace in the universe, before we continue this fruitless war... mustn't we first start by exterminating such evil parasites?"

i think nobody is saying that it s a terrible game or that these are terrible reviews, but it s still a bit disappointing because Napoleon and Shogun2 were less buggy and lets not forget all that 'biggest budget ever' thing

it wasnt wrong to expect a better TW game, or maybe the best and also a mostly bugfree one. but now, we have that Empire situation again. : /

Let's just hope that R2 will be more stable than the TWC server...

As W. B. Yeats aptly put it: "How many loved your moments of glad graceAnd loved your beauty with love false or true,But one man loved the pilgrim soul in you,And loved the sorrows of your changing face."

^because the rewievers wanted to "compensate" for their too positive reviews of ETW... Official rewievs are a joke.

You just highlighted why all the rage is justified.

No, I did quite the opposite.

If you walk up to a guy and he slaps you in the face, you're justified in getting angry at him.

But if you walk up to him a second time, a third time, a fourth time--and get slapped in the face each time, are you still justified in getting mad at him?

Of course not. You're the one applying irrational, unjustifiable expectations on the situation. If your cheek hurts after five slaps, it's your fault, not the fault of the hand that slapped you.
