    Default Skin/unit question

Has anyone tried making a skeleton/skin/unit that uses 2 weapons at the same time, such as a Germanic/Saxon axemen w/ 2 axes? If so, could you tell me where you've posted it (them)? :hmmm:

I think it would be especially cool if it also used the francseca (sp?) missle combat system used in BI to allow for thorwn axes. :

That could feasibly happen, although you'd need a new animation to accompany it. As far as I know it has yet to be done. Also, I'm not sure if the Rome engines 'hit' system (i.e. enemy's shield knocked back yet unit strikes it) would function properly with this.
    welcome to the forums!

the vanilla arcani use two swords at a time. Is that what you are refering to? If so then ya its been done. Also as to throwing axes, it also has been done although the axe didn't spin while in the air.

You can always try learning on a free program, like blender (I'm pretty sure thats free at least). Anyways, its a lot more basic than 3dsmax, but it will at least give you the feel for modelling (cant model rtw units though, sadly).

The way the Arcani do it is the sword in their off-hand is used as a shield in the animation so they never attack using both blades instead using the second sword as a "parrying weapon" to make them attack using both blades would need a new animation.

That's what I afraid of with regard to this issue. However, didn't patch 1.6 correct the axe spinning animation, or am I just plain nuts as usual?

BTW, thanks for the welcome and the replies.

I suppose one could increase either the attack strength or hit strength to compensate till a new animation can be made/found. I just lack the skills and $$$ to work (and buy) 3DS MAX. Sadly, I am an artist, just can't do computer graphics for some reason. Bugs the hell out of me. I can program, been doing that since the 1980's when I learned BASIC, Pascal, and COBOL (yes, I'm old ) in high school.

I know at least one website lets you d/l a 30 day trial copy of 3DS MAX, but I doubt I can overcome my inadequacies with graphics programs in only 30 days, so anyone have any cheaper suggestions?
