help me save some old family movies
hey guys so I found a bunch of CDs that some relatives of mine made from whatever VCR video tapes that survived the test of time and dusty basements of the middle east for a decade.
anyways the format of CD i believe is made for a dvd player (it has bunch of files that seem to be for a system), the video itself seems to be located at the MPEGAV folder in .DAT format.
do you guys know how I can save this footage from this CD and convert it into an MP4 or an AVI that I can easily save on multiple systems insuring its survival?
thanks a lot.

Yeah it's a VCD, which uses .dat format. You can use the above mentioned softwares to convert it into .mp4 or .avi format.
