I'm usually pretty methodical. I'll start by just playing the prologue then grand campaign, not trying to find the bugs/exploits (which will of course exist).

Won't be able to play. Need my pc fixed.. computer crashes every game.. guess I can play it in like 1-2 weeks :'( ...

After that I'll instantly start a campaign.

Lol. The first thing is i open the costum battle screen and look at the units. Choosing from my favourite factions downwards, open a battle and look at them in an actual battle. Reset and choose the next faction and units. After that i will do something similar with the campaign map. After and hour or so i will propably start my first campaign game.

I am the only one who does it that way?^^

No way, dude. I can spend an entire day trying to figure out who I want to play. A large part of my preparation is setting up custom battles to check out units exactly how you described. The last thing you want to do is waste an entire day getting a campaign going only to find out their unit strengths are something you absolutely hate. For me personally, I loathe horse archers. Actually, I don't really care for any faction that's strength is it's cavalry. I'd prefer heavy, defensive infantry, or a faction with eclectic units. So you are not alone.

I always did this when playing mods for the first time and told myself I was going to do it for Rome 2 as well. I guess I'm so hyped for Rome 2 that I forgot about this

I'll play quickly through the prologue to see the new features and then start a grand campaign. Luckily for me I have a shift break so I have the whole week off
