Default Rome: Total War 1.5 Patch problem

    Hey!
I recently decided to update my Rome to the latest patch (1.5)
Now since its installed I feel like I should have stayed at 1.0

    The problems that I have:
Everything looks fat and too width with 1.5
Colors look messed up, everything looks too dark/grey.
Sometimes when playing a battle in campaign, the game starts lagging like hell. (Lowering graphics doesn't help)

None of that was in 1.0, of course 1.5 fixed some annoying bugs and improved the AI, but for me it made the game much worse!
Also I have Gaming PC (Nvidia GTX 560, 8GB Ram) and Steam version of this game.
Please someone tell me what to do! It's getting really annoying, good thing is that Rome 2 comes out in few days, so then I can forget about Rome 1 (maybe).

    Greetz,
    EvoloZz

Thanks, it now works much better, still a little lag while moving in campaign map but that's not a big deal.

Also this happened once for me after a battle:

It's graphics related but too long since I played it last. You may play with the graphics settings to minimize it until Rome2 is released or someone knows better than I.

It could be the game just showing its 8-year-old age.
