well in my previous thread, my question kinda drown into the other replies, but there you go :
So yeah, even CA is doing the effort this time.
There's one thing I hope will be different, and that is how you treat ''barbarians'' faction (aka northern europeans).
They didn't looked as great as in EB 1, and were kind of primitive in comparison, which was unfair and actually unrealistic.
I hope this is the kind of thing that will change in Rome 2 Total Realism. Make them look more sophisticated, as they were in real life, and not like in some kind of roman fantasy.
Fortunately even CA went that direction by giving them bigger, more developed cities and more armoured units for the likes of Averni (and probably dacians...). So they aren't not just topless savage anymore.
You're working with far better and more researched material here .
We will attempt to depict all factions as historically accurate as possible, as far as the game engine and our possibilities as a team will allow us within the framework of historical finds and sources

Rome Total Realism has special place in my life. It was the first mod that I heard and played. I didn't know there can be mods for games before RTR.

I wonder if you've ever played RTR VII? I believe it would be unfair to base your judgement of the RTR team on the old RTR6 releases from 2006...

We will try to do the best of both on the vanilla base, gameplay and realism, it is for us not a versus item, but vice versa, aspects which shall expand the gaming experience. That is valid for players which expect increased historical accuracy in Rome II and also for players who seek rather pure entertainment with Rome II, while probably pure unrealistic vanilla things will be ironed out or let's say changed to something more realistic. Many Warscape features are a very good (technical) base for all that, many things need but much more effort compared to the old engine(s) (RTW/BI/M2). By all that we'll try to enhance AI items, that is AI influence modding, as one cannot change the AI.

The team has been made of solid members and that is reflected in how things are evolving in this very early premodding stage. I am very happy here, because of it and I am eager to get the files to start testing the campaigns, mostly the naval part of them and also the naval combat, part in which I will be working on.

Will you guys do something about the plethora of unit abilities? Most of them are purely fantasy and having them in the game just adds micromanagement while degrading the use of proper tactics (positioning, timing of attacks etc...)
