While we will start working on the project straight away, don't expect a release within days. Our team wants to release quality stuff to the community, which means that we will have to do careful balancing and lots of testing before coming to a release. It's great to see these reactions guys, thanks for your kind words!

RTR has never been 'just' a mod.

Very glad to see this. As someone who has no skills in the areas needed to make mods, I'm always very grateful to you guys who give of your free time to make the game better. As a more historically oriented gamer, I also appreciate your efforts to get things more realistic. I thank you.

It holds no more value than 'just' a mod, some software to alter ones experience or make it more realistic. i didnt say anything bad about it before you say anything.

Have you seen the work that has been put into previous iterations of it over the years?

'Just a mod' really isn't giving the team, past & present their due.

    Cant wait.

I will love to help you but my english is poor, and i m only 2D graphiste.
But if i have a thing to work it will be the 3D relief campaign map, for have the same 3D campaign map (maybe less large) than Europa Universalis IV.
The E.Univ IV relief and topography is more precise and smooth.

I hate the corridor and the cartoon aspect of montaign and forest in the Rome2 3D topography map.

Good luck guys, they are LOT OF WORKS

Im having a big nostalgia attack. I was excited about Rome 2 but this brings me back to my childhood, waiting for news, developments, releases. Wish I learnt some kind of modding skills since then to help out.

Awesome news. I love RTR mod for RTW, being one of the oldest players of the mod when it came out first, this one is something I will definitely play for sure.

Are you guys going to implement armies that are larger than 20 units? If so, you have my vote and my download.

Wish you guys all the best.

Concerning the current map, i'm really interested what you want to change for the germanic factions, aside from the obvious error in single out the suebian tribe of the Marcomanni from the Suebi faction and giving them their own province.

A possible solution would be to divide the Suebi in Semnoni, Marcomanni and Langobardi for example, or just exchange the Marcomanni with the Chatti for example.

I also hope you plan to include special regional units.

    Good luck.

Yeah, sure. Just will you please, you know, get rid of those gladiators?
Dominion of Dust. A city of sand. Built your world of nothing. So how long did it stand?
A 100 years? Now wasn't it grand? Built your world of nothing. How long did it stand?
What did you think would happen? When did you think it would all fall down?
Domain of dust in a land of sand. Did yourself right, so let's feel grand.
Domain of dust in a land of sand. Now there's nowhere left to stand.

For sure, it won't happen quick.

Good things are worth the wait though.
