1.6 and the major mods?

Hi guys,

I've heard several times now that RTW 1.6 (i.e. RTW-BI.exe) has both better battlemap AI and campaign map diplomacy AI than 1.5. But aside from Darth mod 8.0 for BI, the major mods (e.g. TE 5.1, SPQR 6.1, RTR Platinum, Europa Barb etc.) are for 1.5.

I wonder how much the difference is between 1.5 and 1.6 in terms of AI and why these mods have not been updated for 1.6? Anyone have any ideas?

1.5 is for the 4 Roman factions campaign (Julii, Scipii, Brutii, Senate) and 1.6 is for the 2 Roman factions campaign (WRE, ERE). They are 2 different campaigns with 2 different sets of rules and instructions and converting a mod from 1.5 to 1.6 is more difficult than you know.

From what I understand, but I haven't played BI extensively, the differences in A.I. between 1.5 and 1.6 are actually quite small. They use the same formation files and almost the same .exe files, so you wouldn't expect a major change. Like AlfonsoVIII said, porting a mod from 1.5 to 1.6 is not that easy, and also cuts out those fans that haven't bought BI.
