Greetings peeps,

The title says it all, I've spent 3 days on this and have failed, I have not gone mad yet but it has been a very frustrating experience so far.
My new PC has it's onboard sound disabled in the bios.
I have all the settings 'on' to enable the new Xonar PCI-E card, in my new PC(MoBo is the AsusZ87-A).
The Xonar have the latest drivers, the old ones were no better, although I think it's a hardware problem.

The old Creative XiFI soundblaster card worked fine with these speakers(I may yet pull it out of my old PC, or try my RealTek onboard 7.1)
The old setup was the 4 surround leads coming out of the Sub/Amp box, they then went into a small unit, which then had 3 leads coming out(black, orange, green)which then went into the sound card.

The Xonar has an extra port hole at the back and no matter what we do with leads either some speakers don't work, or there not working correctly, ie the wrong sounds are coming out.
So I decided to to remove the 4th lead(grey lead, left and right side speakers)out of the Amp, and run a new independant direct lead from this position, directly into the Xonar.
This seemed to work because in the Xonar's software Audio center I could finally in the on screen 7.1 speaker display, click on all eight speakers, with each one giving the correct signal(previous to this the side speakers didn't work). But when then trying out the old RTW, and various music, certain speakers had no sound, or it's incorrect.

Don't know if I have explained this very well, but I could use some help if poss.
I am about to start shift so can only answer questions in the evening, cheers for any help, if I was rich I would pay an expert to sort this, and tech help from Asus is email only, how frustrating that would be, and yes I know this is email too!
