    Default New Graphics card

    Ok first here is what I currently have,

    ==System==

    Operating System: Windows XP 5.1
    Processor: Intel Pentium 4 CPU 3.00 GHz
    Memory: 1022 MB RAM
    Page File: 403MB of 468MB
    DirectX Version: 9.0c
    Dell Model Number: Dimension 8400

    ==Display==

    Name: RADEON X300 Series
    Manufacturer: ATI Tech Inc.
    Chip Type: RADEON X300 SE (0x5B60)
    Approx. Total Memory: 128 MB

    Main Driver: ati2dvag.dll
    Version: 6.14.0010.6444

    I'm pretty sure my processor and memory are ok, but for MTW2 I think I need an upgrade for my graphics card,
    I'm currently looking at these two (I'm don't know much about graphics cards, so any help would be appreciated)

    Obviously I know the 1st is a better card, but is it worth the extra $150? or would the 2nd one run good enough for large settings on MTW2?

    I need to know relatively soon because it would be nice to get the $30 off if I get the 2nd one ^^

    Thanks again to anyone who can help

    (tell me if there is anything I forgot to mention)

    As for the age old question "Is this card good enough for MTWII", my answer is simple: No one knows. Not even the devs unless if the game is a whole lot closer to release then we thought it would be. Anyone who knows is lying.

    Yes, I know about the whole "High on RTW is medium for MTWII" Problem is, that is their goal, and this is marketing people talking. People don't always reach their goals, and marketing people don't always have a clue what people are talking about.

    Well, we won't know if you will need the more expensive card until we know what you will use it for, of course.

    Well games I plan to play are besides MTW2,

    C&C 3 Tiberum Wars
    Caesar IV
    Sid:Mier's Railroads

    I don't know my monitor specs off the top of my head, but it is standard monitor, not flat screen

    PC hardware guide (ClicK!)

    That should give you a bunch of good options. Make sure your motherboard got a PCI-E slot before you buy!
