Hello! I'm a big fan of EB and I don't see any very recent posts on this forum. My paranoia dictates that i check to see if this mod is still active. I love EB1 and I can't wait for EB 2. Thanks.

Addendum: Suddenly, all of the recent threads have appeared. Now I feel stupid. I apologize.
Seriously, I feel awful. Now I look like one of those "when are you releasing it blah blah blah nag nag nag" people. I favorited this page a long time back and didn't refresh the threads so derp.
EB1 is great! EB2 looks good from what we've seen so far.
Honestly, I do believe it will be wise for the EB team to transfer the project of EB2 for the Rtw2 engine. They can release the version they worked/working on for Mtw2 with maybe 1 or 2 patches to follow, when ready. Then quickly move the project and research onto Rtw2. EB2 for Rtw2, at least their complete version. Rtw2 offers what they need.
It's not possible to just move everything to R2. That would take years
depends: all the units and actual work being done in medieval 2, like the map? sure that's not portable
all the research however, that is a HUGE part of EB2, and all the descriptions for regions etc. are easily ported
anyway, the mod is very much alive
based on my personal judement it might be possible that you will see the first release this year
following that i'm sure we are going to release a few patches
after that? who knows, all discussion about rome2 is folly until we know how modable the game is going to be
OMG another MEGALOL of day...guys, I am wondering why do you even react to such post...
Don't want to go offtopic, but I don't think that RTW2 will be moddable as RTW or MTW2; I think they rather release another new game in future to get more and more sales (as you can see during last years in gaming industry)...![]()
said that because I think remaking all the units and buildings and redesigning the map and the building and recruitment systems would take would take that long, probably longer than it has for EB2 with the extra features of R2although saying that they'd probably get a fair number of extra people helping them that would love to see EB make it's way to R2
As for the research, it's true that they've done an outstanding amount. However with the way EB is I don't think they'd be able to resist doing even more to allow the mod to take advantage of the extra features in R2 (more faction slots etc)
Of course I'd love to see EB on the latest games available, I just don't expect to see it any time soon and I'm more than happy to just have it approaching release () on M2
Guys staph it! Nao!
The OP admitted that he made a mistake.
Also be sure to check the .Org forums for more info.

Not trying to be mean but Rome 2 is out in couple of days and this mod still a long time from being finished. With RS2 having a new relase and Rome 2 soon to have the mod communities attention im afraid EB2 missed the boat.
It's like one of those movies that gets shelved for years and when its finaly released it looks dated.
You know DoTS or the other mods in development? I can see myself playing those more than Rome 2 now after reading and watching the latest stuff.
A game based on highly flawed mechanics a decade old with no attempts to fix the core problems of pathfinding and ai. Ew. Med 2 takes the cake for me as it has more overhauls and battle mechanics that are fun at least.
Seems like this gets said every time a new TW game gets released, let the others go, I still got better mods to play.
No attempt at making the scale larger, implementing unit cohesion system, where is the grandness?
Still the cruddy flying men animation, facial animations like clay chunks falling apart, how the heck does that show "the human side of war?"
A decade for just this? Sad panda is sad.

Good points...but remember the mods will fix alot of that stuff for geeks like us..not all but alot of it. And with the ability to have naval invasions, naval battles, a more interesting campaign map, better intigration of the family system and politics and generaly a better vanilla then the original Rome i would prefer to play a modded Rome 2 then the original.
Not putting down all the good work done but people play the mods from Shogun 2 and Medieval 2..and soon Rome 2. These guys are great and i think with a new base game to work with alot of modders including these guys will find it easier to assemble and keep teams together to work on this new material and polish it up for people like us wh don't care for the arcade style that the CA people have to include for in the design.
Closed, OP apologised for his error, nothing more to discuss
