Any review dates announced?

I wonder when the first reviews of the game will appear. Does anyone know magazines or gaming sites that wil publish one soon (soon = BEFORE release)? Two german magazines, that announced reviews for last week, did not publish them. One magazine told us, that they did not get a test version from CA. I still think about preordering the game, but I would like to read at least one or two reviews. Up to now there are no objective reports how the game, especially the campaign really is.

Ok, no responses. Seems we do not get reviews before release. Nobody else who finds this a little bit annoying? I mean, it is very common today that magazines get a copy prerelease to test the game. It makes me suspicious if this doesn´t happen.

No responses because no one knows? I'm sure there will be reviews just before or at the time of the release. I don't care either way, reviews don't hold a lot of weight to me for games of a series I have been playing for many years.

and you would trust these early reviews? Magazines only receive their early copies based on agreement that they will give high score to the game.

I know, but there is one reviewer I trust (follow his strategy game reviews for more than 15 years). And after the event in Rome he expected an early copy before Gamescon. This did not happen.

I managed to find some info about reviews. Press release key for Rome 2 was activated today one hour ago. So people form magazines and fansites already playing game. Information embargo ends 2 september and review will appear on this day.

Interesting, if it's true. As a matter of interest, what/where is your source for this?

With regards to Mag reviews, PC Gamer UK has a new issue out this Thursday/Friday. There's a possibility that they might have a review (as if not, then they
wont have a review in print until the end of September).

Another factor in support of their having a review is that fact that PC Gamer have always had a good working relationship with CA (a factor which could lead some to accuse them of bias in favour of CA and TW Games). Indeed, some of PC Gamer's former employees have gone on to work at CA!

Draw your own conclusions on that one!
