Cristoforo and his brothers Graziano and Ignazio found themselves in front of a small house near the Blachernae district of Constantinople. This was the home of Leto the priest, if the Patriarch's information was any good. The elusive priest's three children should be here, anxiously waiting whether their father would return from his preaching today. Little did they know that when he would return to the simple house, that his children would be gone, and all that remained would be a note.
Cristoforo looked his brothers in the eyes one by one, and then nodded. He knocked on the door thrice, and unsheathed his sword. His brothers had taken their axe and hammer in hand as well, poised to barge in if the door would open. The things I must do to please the Church, the Count of Naxos thought to himself.
