Duchy of Warsaw in NTW 2

At first let me say what you had heared many many times - that this mod is sure to be the best RTW mod especially at the point of visual beauty and gameplay!

But I want to know if Poland will be included as a faction in any of later releases. I am eager to have napoleonic polish army, espicialy, of course, it's cavalry.

I am currently making some polish models for personal use, could you reccomend me any image sources?

Poland isn't planned (nothing is past the Waterloo pack), and I believe the Duchy of Warsaw was basicly under french rule during the Napoleonic era. However if you are willing to create this faction yourself - while staying historically accurate - we might decide to add it after all. I'll talk to Lord Zimoa and let him supply you with a uniform pack.

The matter of real independance of Poland that time was doubtful, but I belive that the role of polish military in napoleonic wars was enough significant to add Poland as a faction or at least it's soldiery under french banners.

Yes, provide me some realistic images please if you can, I already have an article about organisation of polish army but it isn't followed by any images. What I had found with google is not enough.

I talked to Zimoa and we decided not to add a Polish faction. Napoleon himself was Emperor of Poland so it doesn't really make sense to add it as a seperate faction that can actualy fight France in MP/custom - the same goes for Italy and all the small German states.

Is there any chance you are interested in working on the Austrians and join the Lordz team? We could add a few Polish units to the mod for use in a Peninsula scenario in the future, but we're not planning to add them to the French faction for use in MP/custom battle (they already have enough units, and again, if we add Poles we should also add Italians, Belgians, Saxons, all sorts of Germans etc).

Oh, I like saxons too! Zastrow's cuirassiers are the famous unit I wanted to have in NTW...

Never mind, I can make such units myself.

As for joining Lordz with modding Ausrians I'll PM you tomorrow. NTW models are more complex than original RTW ones, so I would like to have some practice with them. If I will join your team it means that I will have to support the same high level of quality. + I need to look if I have enough free time.

Fair deal, you get all the support needed, but as we are a team so keep in mind you cannot make only units you would like to make when joining. Just mail me if you are ready.

I'd say make a Polish faction and ppl will download them anyway, ppl like variety and they were present in the first NTW as a separate faction. So I think I'll be talking for most of us when I say : Make the faction and everyone will get them the moment they're out.

That's not a napoleonic unit, it's of 16-18 centuries, so it can't be included to NTW. They evolved into polish lancers along with their master horsmanship.

that'd mess up multiplayer compatibility so I'm afraid we can't allow that.

How would it mess things up? You can have prussians, russians, hannoverians and dutch troops fighting each other but can't go as far as poles fighting it's ONLY ally? Don't be silly. You had no problems with that in NTW1, why start making them now? If Atilla wants to make a Polish faction then by all means do so. I bet almost everyone will download the addon.
