Default Are you ready to rock?

I am ready to go, I booked the first week of September off, got my new PC up and running, my fps are in the 120's on ultra for Shogun II. I will be picking up my book on the 3rd or 4th.

I have a feeling it's going to be a long week waiting.

It was time for me to upgrade anyway and why not with Rome II coming out. All funds had to be approved through the Minister of Finance (Wife). She lets me be the boss when she is not around.

Any one else book that week off and got a new PC?

Nobody else was more determined than you to get a week from employment, frankly more people are trying to get into employment / not looking for a reason to lose their placement to be honest. EDIT: Its actually quite sad some people book days off work for some software.

I believe people should be able to choose, what they do with their holiday entitlement, without the negative expressed opinions of others.

In fact I notice at work that quite a few people fail to take enough of their holiday, and because they will loose it if they don't use it, end up taking the time off with no real idea how their going to use it.
So in my mind taking time off for something you enjoy, and have been looking forward too for some time, seems like an excellent way to use said hols.

Jobs are less of a commodity in Scotland, if your employer finds you off work for anything else but family, or ilness youre fired and someone else more... productive can have it.

In Denmark the employer would only care, if you have called in sick and still have the energy to post about all the fun stuff you are doing on facebook. We have 5-6 weeks a year (not counting days like christmas, 1st and 2nd Christmas day, New Year's eve, etc.), which can be spend like the individual employee see fit.

@Stradar: Keep your negativity to the complaint thread or the one about R2 being rushed, we don't care... It's not like we are going to see you inside the game. This thread is about being ready to play, and apparently being submissive to your wife...

The PC is is leaps ahead of the one I had before, top end I5 processor, 128 GB SSD, 8 G RAM, 2G video card. My geek buddies did all the research I went in the PC shop and had one custom made.

Thinking of taking some days (the 4th and 5th) to play like a maniac. Then friday to work, where I'll have some time to plan tactics whilst I can't play, go home and pull a whole nighter

ps. what videocard have you bought?
I am on a 660Ti now. Contemplating a SLI or other upgrade myself.

Getting a new PC working now, but I'm not taking off work. I work afternoons, though, so I have plenty of time in the day and night-time to get time in.

School starting on Monday next week, which will give me at the most a full 2 hours of playing during the day. I'll have much more priorities in the day (school, then the gym and all that crap) and lastly some lonely-unsocial Rome II for relaxation. It's funny how we could easily (me at least) wait since July 2nd 2012. and can't manage to hold out these last 8 days. It's getting frustrating...
On the other hand, to the dudes that can easily play on High quality on Shogun II and that are prepared in terms of high-end CPUs:
I'm unsure whether or not to upgrade my PC's performance, so I gotta get some advise around here from you fellow experts.
Would these specs be enough for handling out Rome II on Medium-High video settings? The last thing I do not want is to have some laggy-a$$ experience and, most of all, never being able to play on High settings. I really wanna get that full detail out the work they've put into it.
Here it is (just the basic info I know):
Processor: Intel Core i3-2100 CPU @ 3.1 GHz
    RAM: 4GB (2.99 usable)
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GT 240
    Approx. Total Memory: 2253 MB
What do y'all professionals think 'bout these specs? Could I get at least a Medium setting on Rome II or possibly on higher ones. Would really love to get all dem nice, fuzzy textures around.
    Cheers and thank you!
    Can't wait...Just that.

What is your OS, 32 or 64bit? 32bit I'm guessing?
What resolution are you running your monitor at?
Is your GPU DDR3 or DDR5?
The DDR5 version may be 25% faster than the DDR3 version of that graphics card. Your GPU was a budget card about 4yrs ago. What settings are you playing STWII on?

I am not ready to rock because I know CA very well and I am sure that:

-game will have tons of bugs and glitches

    -poor optimization

    -poor ingame stuff

all this means that normally you will enjoy game 2-3 months after release when patch 1.2 will come out.

Hey guys I didn't want to be the one to tell you this, but the game's been delayed a week, and it's not on PC anymore, it's a PlayStation exclusive. Original Playstation not PS3. Also now it's a First Person Shooter.

    Yeah, bummer I know.

...but yes, I am indeed ready to rock.

Whoooo!! I am! :-D My PC is all set up and I have the game on pre-order. My Labor Day holiday is scheduled for September 3rd, but I have the rest of the week to work, which is through Saturday. :-( Tuesday will be a major flavor day; mostly just reading descriptions, learning the new features, and stratergizing* with unit stats.

First campaign will be Macedon. What about the rest of y'all?
