So that's a team intended not a bug as I thought. I'm OK with it but why Rome should be OP in custom? No offend but it's a bit weird, or everyone love ROME XD!?

BTW It's not hard for me to change it back anyway.

I had a battle against an Insubres army (around 3200 soldiers) of elite skirmishers and heavy spearmen mostly. PLaying on huge unit size. A single unit of Stone Throwing Siege Ballista with flaming ammo took out 14% of their troops. I was downhill so i had friendly fire too ~ 40 casaulties (2 hits).

And what about "Scorpions" ? Shouldnt those be more accurate considering they are anti-infantry only and have no real area damage?

I would love that personally. That or higher rate of fire. They're basically useless to have in army atm.

How would one improve the accuracy of scorpions?

This is because Rome has its own campaigns and the other campaigns use the default EDU. Anyway if you check my recent thread http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...r-Rome-Players I've uploaded an EDU if you want to play custom battles AS ROME, but you'll need to remember to swap back if you start playing non Rome campaigns

Sound good . But why I have to swap back o_O? Isn't each campaign (including Custom battle) have it's own descr_unit ?

No, most campaigns use the default one in the root /data folder.
These campaigns have their own one in the individual campaign folder:

    Play_Bithynia
    Play_Bosphoran
    Play_Capua
    Play_Galatia
    Play_Massalia
    Play_One_Turn
    Play_Parthia
    Play_Rome
    Play_Rome_One_Turn
    Play_Sarmatia
    Play_Scythia
    Play_Syracuse

I thought I'd put in this thread since some of you guys were play testers (hence very familiar with the changes) and I'm not sure whether it is an issue or it is just another example of my memory being shot! I'm was sure that I could build Velites in all towns in 2.5 from Turn 1 on, but in 2.6 it is only those towns with barracks (Rome and the two up north) that has an abiliity to build units (other than Generals or ships). Has something changed or is it true that my memory is shot? Thanks

It's a bug in the export_decr_buildings, apparently they've listed allied equites twice, instead of one for each unit. You could either wait for a hotfix or fix it yourself (as I have done). It's pretty simple, quote from the guy who actually found & fixed it:

(For some reason the forums won't let me make multiple quotes?)

    Credits goes to Zydrius.

EDIT. I think I might have found a mistake in export_decr_buildings (Rome 1-turn). Here (line 3609):

    ;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;Roman Missle units;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
    recruit "allied equites" 0 requires factions { romans_brutii, } and not marian_reforms and not hidden_resource rome and not hidden_resource area4 and not hidden_resource area10

CONFIRM. I changed 'allied equites' into 'allied velite' and allied skirmisher appeared in the client state barracks lvl 1!

Thanks Zumuk. I had seen that post but wasn't sure it was this problem. Cheers.
