Default What is the Duplicate Praenomen section of descr_names.txt?

I'm trying to customize my family tree but I don't know what the hell this section is for in the descr_names.txt file:

;Duplicate Praenomen that translate as the above
    Durmius
    Marcellus
    Atilius
    Secundus
    ....
    .... DeciusA
    GaiusA
    LuciusA
    MarcusA
    PubliusA
    QuintusA
    TitusA
    TiberiusA
    ...
    ...
    DecimusB
    GnaeusB
    SpuriusB
    .......

Anybody know what the heck this part is for? The other games don't have this part

Is there anything special I have to do with names for RS2? After completing my custom family tree for Rome it CTD after I started the campaign. Going to go back and check all the usual culprits, but I was just curious if I have to do anything extra for RS2 that I would not for RTW?

Well, yes. It would be best to leave it alone. But seriously, the duplication is because the Romans only used a few Praenomens at this point in history. It didn't change until the late Republic, early Empire. So the names listed first are the historical ones. The succeeding sets are duplications of those names to correct an issue with RTW where there are not enough 'first names' for the game to create characters properly or historically.

Oh that is interesting, I wondered about that before why there were so many in history called Gaius, Lucious, etc.

Hmm, but making my own family tree is one of the fun parts of TW games, so it can't be done in RS2?

Yes, of course it 'can' be done. It will just be difficult with the way the Roman starting characters are set up. You'll have to add any new names to all the correct files, of course.
