    Default External Blu-ray drive

    Hello.

Some of you might remember me asking about blu-rays some months ago. Well, now I'm back to ask about blu-ray drives.

I've been thinking about getting some TV shows on blu-ray partially because I believe the 1080p will do some shows justice and partially because I want them to last forever. It's great that some shows release in combo packs (blu-ray and DVD plus digital copy), so that isn't a problem. The problem comes down to shows that release either one or the other, and no combo pack. This can be a problem when I either A) want to write a review about the show (or even movie), as I like to get my own pictures for them, or B) I want to loan the discs to a friend but they don't have a blu ray player.

So I'm looking for an external blu-ray drive that would solve these problems.

Anyone have any experience in them? I'm looking for something in the $70 range or lower. I know I could just go to Amazon and price range and read reviews, but I want to see what others think. I won't be needing it for a while, but I am just trying to get a feeling for what is out there.

didn't actually researched much when I got mine, I got a cheep lg model that was locally available

but indeed, I got the macross frontier in blu ray and I can definitely see the difference in quality, but in general movies I never saw it, mostly anime I can see that there was some retouching done and so forth, another good one was the do you remember love blu ray version that was launched I think last year or so, it was entirely retouched, well its a 84 movie
