absorbing clients states or protectorates

as the title says:

will it be possible to absorb clients state (for example if you play with Seleucid Empire) or a protectorate without declaring war?

I well remember that in Napoleon I can't do that..

another question: is possible to free a country after the conquest (as in Napoleon) ?

Nope.
You can turn conquered provinces in Vassals similar to Shogun II I think.

anyway I think thats a waste of time, it would be better to have a diplomatic options who allows you to absorb a client state after some years or after your culture is strong in such provinces

otherwise what could they do? cannibalize their clients and then have diplomacy-reputations so bad that every other states get "angry" with them?

In the last update of Wills Macedon playtrough one Client state from Ptolemaia (Cyprus) declared independence. So Egypt got to retake them (I think in this Case the 2 states will be automatically at war).

Maybe you just have to provoke and get your Client states on the nerves so THEY become disloyal and then you Conquer them? (Have some Agent movements in their lands and that)
