Let's enjoy the game. This forum seems to have some of the most passionate members of the TW fanbase; some of them seem to think they're entitled to their opinions being taken as rules. Generally speaking, I admire passion. We all want that perfect game. However, progress should never be criticized. This game looks like a definitive improvement over all TW titles before it.

Let's allow ourselves some time to revel in it before we criticize it for minute details.

    Thank you.

Most of us are psyched for this game. It's a definite improvement over past titles and brings the TW universe to a new level. And I think CA deserves credit for being a lot more involved with the fanbase this time around. All in all, as a long time TW player I feel things have come around full circle and this game will be something I will cherish and enjoy every pixel of. Thank you CA, thank you letting us all relive the glory of this ancient period through epic eye-candy battles and swag-ass campaign conquests.

Yeah I get that Prometheus, but I think its because of the quality video and just the general gameplay was kind of vanilla.

Only thing that bothered me a little bit is the fact that there is a HUGE aqueduct coming into the Samnite town during the second video. If the battle is representing a Samnite town during the Samnite Wars, there's no chance that an aqueduct that large would be built, especially not in a Samnite town. But if it's a random city map in a custom battle, then it's fine. Regardless, I couldn't be more excited for this game!

Also Modestus, take a lap. Just because the player is sh!t doesn't mean the game is crap. Any other video shown before, ones played by CA members especially, show very clearly that, yes you can fight a battle at a reasonable pace without rushing all units against one enemy.

wow, finally a battle video where the players know what they are doing
    fear is helluva drug
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
“The only rule that ever made sense to me I learned from a history, not an economics, professor at Wharton. "Fear," he used to say, "fear is the most valuable commodity in the universe." That blew me away. "Turn on the TV," he'd say. "What are you seeing? People selling their products? No. People selling the fear of you having to live without their products." freakin' A, was he right. Fear of aging, fear of loneliness, fear of poverty, fear of failure. Fear is the most basic emotion we have. Fear is primal. Fear sells.” WWZ

Have you had your daily dose of fear yet? craziii

I was today on the G.C. and played Rome 2 . The Battles are too fast and the sizes of the soldiers are smaller than in the past TW Games. The Speed of the ships i like is fast but ok for the ships. For the troops the Speed is too fast.

This confirms what some have speculated that the battles are a click fest and they'll only last a couple of minutes then BAM the battle is over. :/

Unlike the Creative Assembly videos and let's plays we get a really good sight on the game with excellent commentary (sorry german) that give us an whole image to the game and we finally can see closeups and sieges CA missed to show yet.

The size of the soldiers looks really small although it was already in large... I thought those were normal....

Theses vids are great, the german vids skipped through a lot but the battles were long. The fort battle in the first link went over 30mins long. Units do seem to charge around really quick but I guess if your in a battle u want to go quick and those arrow tracers just seem annoying to me but could be different when I am playing the game so will have to wait and see. They must have changed the tactical map cause they stated a while ago u couldn't perform commands well on that screen but seems they have changed it. And for some reason beach landings just feel exciting I just get pumped. Ill be storming my troops of the ships and attacking head on. Not the best strategy but will be fun.

I cannot understand CA. It is ashaming they got busted and leaked by our german game magazine. All their clean cut and covered marketing releases so far get worthless. Interesting no other game magazine like pc gamers ign and gamespot are that honest. This tells again how dependent they are on Sega and CA advertising money.
