The offering to Athena *WORKSHOP*
With the words of Alexander in his ears, Kleitos sets off to make a start on the statue. Knowing he needs to do something of high quality, and big in size bronze is discarded as it would be to heavy once adorned with gold and jewels so he decides to embark on a method that until now he has only studied meticulously but never tried, the Chryselephantine method.
He is also going to make this ivory and gold statue the biggest he has ever made, hoping to make it stand 30 or 40 cubits high. He sits down to make notes and calculations for what is needed that he cannot readily provide himself.
50 Talents of Gold
15 Talents of Silver
30 Talents of Ivory
20 Talents of Bronze
High quantity of large and small Jewels consisting of but not limited to - Pearls, Emeralds, Garnets, Carnelians and Sardonix
200 Slaves, at least which 60 must be proficient and able at delicate tasks
400 Soldiers to guard statue and components during construction and transportation phase
With this initial list in place, Kleitos sends a messenger to Alexander to inform him of the early costs of such an offering and so he may inform the Archon.

Re: The offering to Athena *WORKSHOP*
The workshop and surrounding buildings and land were more than enough for Kleitos, and he was glad he had made the purchase some years ago before his isolation had led to subtle frugality.
The land itself was about a plethron, maybe more, and was enclosed by a basic wooden fence standing roughly one fathom high. This Kleitos knew, would need to be addressed. After all, there would a large amount of valuable materials kept on the grounds, so security would need to be improved.
Two large buildings stood in the northern end, Kleitos fancied these as the storage areas. Heavy wooden doors were the only way in and out of each of them, quite ideal he mused. Station some guards outside, set up a password system, along with a few other measures all should be well.
Another building, not quite as large as the 2 storage ones, a slightly lower roof but longer walls and floorspace made it, to Kleitos, ideal as slave quarters. The slaves themselves should be no trouble, whilst they could expect hard work and long hours they would also get regular hot meals, good healthcare and for some of them, learn skills they could later perhaps make a little coin from.
Housing the soldiers on site, unfortunately, was logistically impossible. There were only 2 buildings left, one being the actual workshop containing everything needed for stone, wood and metal work as well as painting and jewel work and the final building, a modest 2 storey, would serve as Kleitos living quarters and the storehouse for the plans and the Centre from which the instructions to construct the statue would be issued.
The soldiers would have to travel to and from barracks, Kleitos cursed himself for not checking how far this was and so knowing timescales. Either way, he would need 8 guards on each storehouse at all times, and he would prefer each group of guards to remain at that station for no longer than 4 turns of a sundial. These guards would not have access to the storehouses however, and upon finishing this station they are to finish guard duties for the day,to be replaced by others who had been stationed at other posts throughout the area, who in turn would be replaced by fresh guards arriving from the barracks.
A better gate house would be constructed, heavily guarded and allowing only 3 people abreast to get through, its construction needing to be timed with the arrival of the resources and materials so as not to hinder any oxen or the carts they would be pulling.
With his early logistical planning done, Kleitos feels the pangs of hunger in his stomach as he finishes walking the perimeter. Eager to eat, but knowing that there is so much more to do he walks to the 2 storey building and enters, sits at a desk and starts writing and drawing out more plans.
