Replacing Platoon Fire and Fire and Advance

Hi guys, I'm trying to remove the abilities Platoon Fire and Fire and Advance, and on the most part I'm replacing them with the Mass Fire ability. However, when I load the game, it lets me get to the point where I choose the map for a custom battle, but at the army select screen, the game crashes when I try and select a different faction. Any idea why it's doing that?
