Default Need help fixing Seleucid elephants.

I'd like to play a Ptolemaic campaign but I can't so long as Seleucids have their ridiculously OP elephants. I'd like some advice on how to fix them. What files to edit, and most of all what stats should I give them.

Would be glad if someone could upload their files for me directly, but I can do the editing if that's not possible. I'd also like to know if editing the elephants affects ongoing save games, do I need to start a new campaign?

2.6 is genuinely going to be out within a week, and that reduces the strength of the elephants. Just hold your horses (no pun intended).

Editing will not affect saves. 2.6 is nearly out and will take care of elephants. Anyway if you don't want to wait do the following:
Open the Play one turn folder, open data and look for the export_descr_unit file.
Using Notepad, open the export_descr_unit and search for "elephant".
Finding the "elephant cataphract", look for stat_sec_armour line.
Change the first value to 28 or below.
You can also change the second value of the stat_health line to 8.

I changed the values as instructed, but in-game it still says that the elephants have 48 armor. I'm playing One-Turn on H/H, and edited One-Turn export_descr_unit as you said.

Let's just say my Ptolemaic campaign "ceased" when one unit of these Elephants wiped out my whole army while taking their capital. When I say whole army, it isn't an exaggeration. After they slaughtered my Phalanx which I was sure to kill them with, and which actually was deployed, they moved on to my Marines, cavalry, mercenaries. The whole lot haha
I always have 4 archers units, they took turns firing fire arrows but nothing. All this...without losing a single Elephant in the process. Was also on easy too

They just couldn't be killed. I'm not worried though, they'll be sorted in this patch. However, that was quite an experience, I'll tell you that haha
I personally invite you to check out my complete combat overhaul which will give you a completely new Rome 2 experience:

EDIT: Wait, I managed to edit the wrong file it seems, though I'm pretty sure I edited the right one.

Pardon my stupidity, and thanks for the advice. Elephants are fine now
