I have to admit I' am alittle worried that Jack was able to destroy Epirus in 9 turns.

Remember that he is playing on normal/normal. In STW2 that was basically 'easy'.

Epirus was only 2 regions, neither of which was a province capital. if it took much longer then 9 turns to take 2 territories I would be very worried.

    Totaly agre with that.

I'm sorry but this is a rushing game.
With the few settlements there is in Greece, our friend conquered it in 4 battles.
Destroyed Epirus in 2 battles. ANd all of that without any siege battle.

This is really too fast and it's show what i feared about.
So, welcome to Total: Rushnig game.

I think it's all about location. All the factions hate each other in Greece. That's why they attack eachother from the get-go. I'm sure you can still turtle with some factions.

Total War has always been played at about this speed. in Medieval 2 the Turks could be defeated by the Roman (Byzantine) empire in 2 battles (though they where seige battles) The Scots and Danes could easily be killed in one battle if you rushed them as England and the HRE respectively. Rome 2 will have over 100 factions so i dont think you need to worry about gobbling up the world too fast

edit- I should explain that while the Turks have 4 regions to start their whole royal family starts in the 2 most western cities so if you blitz both then the faction will be defeated

Yeah agreed. Also would you rather have him just building stuff in the first few turns? That'd be some spectacle! No, he needs to attack, to actually DO something in order to show us things.

I agree. If he wasn't taking over provinces everyone would be complaining about the lack of action.

It took Jack 15 turns or more to take those settlements he almost lost a battle. If he lost an army it could have turned out very differently.

Remember what you just said. Athens and Sparta helped Jack out. If they didn't it would probably have been a harder fought campaign.

If he'd played on a more challenging difficulty things would have looked very different, I presume.

I'm happy for things proceeding so fast. Waiting for 10 turns to train an army in S2TW and conquering regions at the speed of a moving snail was really boring.

I'm hoping he just got lucky with his allies taking most of the brunt of the battles from Epirus ... and him just mopping up and taking the settlements. It does seem a bit quick; but then again; he has designed the game - imagine how we will play after a year with the game. Look at the last battle vs is it antheia? ... he almost doesn't win that battle.

Several things to note to those complaining about how fast he took down Epirus: Though I personally think 9 turns is too long for taking just two regions.

    1) He is playing on normal.
    2) He had Athens and Sparta backing him with all their military might.
    3) Epirus had no siegable settlement.

I know there's a lot of TW who like to take it more slowly build up and such but the reality is that in every Total War game you have been able to rush and wipe out entire major factions in just a few turns. I personally was able to take out the Takeda as the Uesugi in less then a dozen turns in my most recent playthrough of Shogun 2, while playing on Legendary with Darthmod.

"It's bizarre though. Donald Trump, an ageing, orange skinned reality TV star with a history of selling steaks and conning people, a trophy wife and one of the most fragile egos I've seen pretty much just destroyed the head of the interventionist faction in the US State apparatus, Victoria Nuland, after literally becoming President of the United states. We must live in one of the more interesting timelines."

I think Macedon will be one of the easiest factions in the game. They start with two regions, one vassal and one ally. Sorry but you have to be really bad if you take longer than that to defeat Epirus. Playing as the other greek factions will probably be much harder.
