Here we are... the SUGGESTION THREAD . This is meant to be a thread to keep track of suggestions easier. PLEASE DO NOT OPEN UP SEPERATE THREADS REGARDING SUGGESTIONS
Rules:
- Yes, you MAY use this as a discussion thread (only if related to suggestion topic(s), bug reports go in the Error Reports subforum) - When posting suggestions, try to follow this format so it is easier to tell which is a suggestion
- Include a title that says 'Suggestion' (option only availible in the 'Go Advanced' options) (
- Include subtitle in the post in BOLD(first line)
- If you want to re-write/edit your suggestion, please DO NOT double post (use the 'edit' button if applicable)
- Please DO NOT to double post, even as discussion posts (use 'edit' if applicable)
(everything in the brackets are only for explaining purposes, you do not have to include it in your post) Example of Good Suggestion Post (NOT a real suggestion)
[Title] Suggestion (Title is there) [Post] Better UI (Subtitle)
The UI is a bit 'bland' (black and white), I would like to suggest that you use a bit more color (red, green and black perhaps?) (Well written post, explaining clearly why this should be implented)
Example of Bad Suggestion Post
[Title](There is no title. This could be easily skipped over as a discussion post) [Post]
the game brokn!, y u no fix? (No details at all, with nothing being suggested either)
[Title] Suggestion [Post]
Add music (There is no explanation why this should be implented)

I know this was touched on in some posts but i would like to formally have a disscusion about feasible additional factions and get the devs feedback if they have plans for additional factions.
I think the following factions could be added:
zhang yan - govenor of he nei
yan baihu - split liu yong up
wang lang - again split liu yong
(liu yong yan bai hu and wang lang should all be allied at tge start. Wang lang would own jian an as well)
Zhao fan
jin xuan
liu du- i think thats his name?
(Split hua xins faction into 4. A faction for eaxh governerall allied to each other.)
Shi xie - governer of jiao zhi
Han sui - split from ma teng since the devs are saying they want this historicallly acurate and not novel based han sui was pretty much his own man and fought against ma teng numerous times.

The Guqin ensembles on the campaign map is awesome and all, but I find much of the battle music tacky as hell, specially with the presence of scores from movies such as "The Rock," "Pearl Harbor," "King Arthur (2004)," and "Pirates of the Caribbean." The scores are not really apt for a Chinese setting.
Might I suggest that you take tracks from Koei's "Romance of the The Three Kingdoms XI?" The main theme's (Track Number 1's) climax is fitting for for the post-battle Victory window that pops up after the player wins a battle.
I am not sure if this has been said, but is it possible to try to make the units take a little longer to recruit (excluding elites as I am sure they take a long time to recruit)? Since it is twelve turn and the AI has the financial advantage and has the tendency to go overboard with the amount of armies they have.

I think maybe slightly increasing recruitment availability time might help. Though i still see ai spamming in every mod. The ai just recruits whatever is available
Suggestion [add special ability for "smart" officer]
Generals with heavy cavalry as their bodyguard can easily crush any officer with archers as their body guard. Adding a special ability (like to place anti-cavalry stakes before battle start, something english longbow archers have in original game) would give them something to fight cavalry charges. And historically true, some generals were died in this kind of traps. Not sure how hard this could be to implement in a mod.
I agree. After we get done making our new "standard" roster, bodyguards will be one of the projects that we will work on next (along with bandits and reskins). I am currently looking into hero abilities for general as well. As far as the deployment of stakes, if I remember correctly, I think that there is an issue in M2TW with the AI being able to deploy them during the battle. I might be confused on that however. But, yes, non-cavalry bodyguards need something to make them tougher and more durable. An alternate way to deal with it is to make every bodyguard unit cavalry, but that could get out of hand with so many historic characters on the map.

Suggestion: coming of age gets historical biography
the historical officers that come of age get randomized traits in my cao cao campaign. I seen in the edct that you have bios for them though it just seems that when they come of age your script for giving the correct biography is not working. Not sure if the devs were aware of this.

Those are still messed up? Can you give me some examples so I can see what the issue is? Faction > Character > Bio

Just registering a vote against anti-cavalry stakes, which are OP in vanilla. Particularly in castle defense, when you can line up 1 unit in the castle gate and slaughter unit after unit of heavy cavalry without a fight.
Granted the human player can voluntarily not use them, but, it's not great to add features that the player has to opt out of for fairness' sake.
In my cao cao campaign xiahou ba and xiahou shang. Every character so far that has come of age. They get one of the generic bios like "this man led local militias to conquer bandits etc." xiahou ba has beast master trait which seems wrong. Xiahou shang had his infantry level at proficent which also seems wrong.
