    Default Unit numbers and UI

Pretty much the only thing that bothers me with Rome 2 is the decision to remove easily visible unit numbers from the unit cards. I have no clue why this decision was made as it makes no sense.

Would it be possible to add this back in a mod or something?

I agree. I prefere to have the number of my units.

if it was in shogun 2, then probably yes. it could still be in game options, like when you select subtitiles on or off.

This is the 753th thread that talks about this missing feature. I really hope that this issue has reached CA attention by now.

Your quote really doesn't fit on this subject. We are not discussing about new impossible features to be implemented here.
Unless you really think removing a small visual feature is an marvelous and articulate "idea". Really?

BTW, all TW games have number on UI card (Shogun 2 and FotS have even number plus bar).

Are you aware that if you hoover the mouse on a unit card the number appears?

I'm thinking that most of these controversial changes must have toggle-able options. CA may have taken pre-cautions with some of these changes.

Personally, I do not like the bar. It's looks nice, but for precise monitoring of your troops, it does not help one bit. I'm still waiting to test the bar for myself though. CA do know what they are doing and I trust them.
I personally invite you to check out my complete combat overhaul which will give you a completely new Rome 2 experience:

The overseeable numbers are replaced with the bar, and the numbers still appear if you mouse over the cards. This is the bazillionth thread about this issue. They're not changing it. Seriously, you'll get over it, and in years time you'll be wondering why they decided to replace the bar with numbers in ROME III.

they really should just have a tickable box in gameplay options. I would have it ticked for sure.

That blew me away. "Turn on the TV," he'd say. "What are you seeing? People selling their products? No. People selling the fear of you having to live without their products." freakin' A, was he right. Fear of aging, fear of loneliness, fear of poverty, fear of failure. Fear is the most basic emotion we have. Fear is primal. Fear sells.” WWZ

The lack of numbers in the unit cards is certainly one of the worst decisions they have made for Rome 2.Let's hope they'll make it available in the options,or fix it in a patch,or that it will at least be moddable.

I think they did it so that we dont focus on the numbers but more on the unit instead.
I really hope the bar goes red and flashing when really low.

The fact that they appear when you hover over the cards is enough for me, to be honest.

Unit numbers was one of the very useful features in total war and We really know the exact reason behind its removal. Despite all the objections about it but CA remained mysteriously remained silent about this issue !

I agree, hoping it'll be in as an option or modded in quickly. Seems like an odd decision really

Not really, many people love all the new features, but find certain things to be odd. I personally find the unit numbers useful for accurate assessment of when to withdraw a unit from a fight, and for quick calculation of the attrition during.

Its just a preference, and certainly not a massive issue. Wouldn't call it 'innovation' to be honest

    @Dominian
CA sworn defenders are as silly as those who always bashing CA ! Who said change for the sake of changing is good? if so ,then let's stop using power only to make a change in our life !!! Change is good if it's in a good direction that it's called enhancement. CA change in this regard was bad ,because it's removed a very useful and popular feature.

I ask those like you who defend CA's decision about unit numbers , Can You show Me just one thread in this forum (or any other total war related forum-boards) with its subject being against unit numbers???
