Prom, why are just labelling me a Congolese? I know who I am, and who I come from (my grand-father had to have his family history looked over in the 50s before he joined the police, to check for any sign of crime etc.), I don't need to be told. I come from Venetians and Austrians who settled in Trieste.

My opinion: the legionary portrayed is not black, I have nothing against black people, but historically I do not think there would be any black legionaries in the Roman army, particularly not in the republican and early-mid Imperial periods.

There is no evidence of black legionaries whatsoever. No archeological remains. Not one shred of evidence in ancient literature and not one shred of evidence in Roman art. The only thing we have evidence for is that the Romans would have been quite racist by today's PC standards.
