Family Bio

Kleitos is alone in Greece, in family terms. With the passing of his mother Polyxene some 2 years ago he got lost somewhat in his loneliness. He spent this time pondering his future and where it should go, believing each man could control his own destiny, and the only conclusion he kept arriving at was he couldnt be like his father Amyntas or his Grandfather Timon. Both respected traders who whilst gaining wealth for themselves also distributed among the poor regularly, his father especially was known within travelling circles to always provide work. As a result Kleitos, by aged 8, had met many different cultures, and had learned tolerance to differences like no other.
The main problem for Kleitos was that while he was taught all that is needed to run the trading business as diligently as his predecessors, he found his talents lay in crafting. He loved woodwork, metalwork and stone sculpture and couldnt put the energy one evoked into the one he felt demanded.
No-one in his family had really done anything politically, and Kleitos feels it is here he could make his mark. His tolerance and intelligence, not only academically but worldly, would be great assets for Athens. He dreams of hiring people eventually to run his trading business, while he devotes his time to crafting and politics, and sets himself on this path.
His house has a large open air courtyard, surrounded by clusters of rooms and adjoining corridors numbering roughly a dozen or so besides the kitchen. Three of these rooms are considered Gynaikonitis and are located in the southern suite whilst the Andron is in the northern suite. It is by no means lavish, a few simple ornaments and chests accompany some plain upholstered couches and some wooden chairs - early efforts of Kleitos'.
Having been military trained, but not having joined the military has left somewhat of a chip of Kleitos' shoulder but he represses it well. He spent a lot of time away from Athens as he grew up, going to posts throughout his families business establishing contacts and making friends, learning the trade through apprenticeship. As a result no suitable brides were found, and until he embarked on this new stage of his life, it was not something Kleitos had considered.
