    Default RTW won't start

I just got done with uninstalling RTW and wiping it clean, when I tried to install it again. It said it couldn't find some files, even when pressing Retry. After four or five trys of doing so, I stopped pressing ti and stop the installation.

I then restarted my computer and put the RTW disc back in. It didn't show the menu, so I clicked on the disc in My Computer. I was suprised to find a message saying "D:/ Access Denied".

Now I am really confused and don't know what to do. Can anyone help me?

Does it work with other disks?

Yes, just that it is taking a little longer than usual.

I've had similar problem with my DVD drive, try dis-connecting and then re-connecting it and re-installing the drivers. If that fails you can try to update the firmware, but only if you have no other choice. Other than that I don't know how I can help you. It definatly sounds like a problem with tour hardware though.

I'm not one of very much experience with computers, so can you tell me how to do so? I apologize, I'm not the smartest when it comes to computers...

It's OK, to dis-connect your drive:
+Turn off and dis-connect the power cable.
+Take the cover off of your PC.
+Hold the inside of the case, (to earth yourself).
+Look at the rear of the drive that is causing problems.
    +Remove the two cables.
+Boot up the PC again, then shut it down.
    +Re-insert the two cables
    +Close case
+Boot up PC and let windows auto install drivers. If you have a CD that came with the drive use that, but otherwise let windows do it.

    If this doesn't work:
    +Log onto the net
    +Visit www.drvupdate.com
+Find your CD-Drive (If you know what it is*)
    +Download the latest driver
    +Install it

    *If you don't know what it is then;
Right-click My computer, click properties, then click the hardware tab, then click device manager, you should see this:

Circled is the name of your Drive.

Weird, It installed perfectly, no problems.

It might have been because I was running a virus scaner at the same time. :hmmm:

Rather than physically disconnecting the DVD drive.
Just uninstall it via the windows device manager then restart the computer to achieve the same effect.

Also...you dont have Daemon Tools installed by any chance do you?

It will be under DVD/CD Rom Drives...
If nothing is there....try a different chord to connect the drive to the motherboard.

Ok I found 'em. The two are:
    LITE-ON DVDRW LDW-811S
    and:

    SONY DVD-ROM DDU1612

what I meant is that I couldn't find it on the website that Vanquisher provided.

Sorry, looks like wesites been re-arranged since I last visited I can't find anything either.

    Try these:
    http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/FIR...ware-101.shtml
    (For the DVDRW)

    http://cd-rom.free-driver-download.c...are-DYS1.html\
    (For the DVD)

Only install the firmware for the drive/s that is/are not working properly.

Failing that I can only say that the lens needs cleaning, if Windows is detecting the drive fine, but it's not reading the disks well, this could be the case. Always make sure you have clean disks when you put them into your drives.

    OMG
Sorry about this but i'm a tad too busy to go trawling the net, just copy and past it into google and see if you can find a link that works. Make sure you have your firewall set to allow downloads too. If you need any help you'll need to ask some-one else for now.

Have you tried the other media drive since you have 2 of them. Also, check to see if there is damage on the CD.

Just glad that I could help, now we only have to wait to see if M2TW will be on DVD or CD.
