Default dual graphic cards and ultra settings

so, are there any news about the eventual restrictions on ultra settings caused by dual graphic cards? I had this problem with Shogun 2.

well in Shogun 2 the graphic settings menu displays only my Intel HD Graphic Card, instead switching to Radeon 7670, and because of that I am unable to set the ultra setting for example : unit detail, textures etc

Is this only for Shogun? Does your Crossfire setup show up for other games?

I had it with Skyrim also, but the weird thing is that the overall performance is good, and it seems that it uses the better card. But on the preference settings level the game recognise only the HD card. I had the same problem on my older laptop with nvidia card, but I was able to set it to work manually in the pref file, but this fix doesn't work on the new one. As far as I remember this was done by one of the S2 patches, so I am wandering if the upcoming title will have the same issue

Why don't you just do it manually in the preferences files?

What does you display setting say on your desktop? Radeon 7670 or Intel Integrated GFX or whatever?

Sounds like your card setup isn't install properly or you need to update the driver.

Yeh this is your problem not the games. When I first set up my 670 a lot of things were showing as if I had no graphics card at all! After updating drivers and setting some stuff in the control panel it started showing up.

I've used SLI in both NTW and S2TW, never any issues. The only real issue with 2x GPUs is that you're likely to run into a CPU bottleneck long before the GPUs are using their full power.

are you using a laptop with integrated card?? beause you could try to set in the bios the switching from automatic to fixed!!

In this way you choose what card to use from the control pannel. If not its the bios that switch the graphic card when needed

there all several workarounds/fixes for this. but try the 13.8 Beta 2 drivers first. then SHUTDOWN, not restart. Shutdown, wait a few seconds then hit your power button. the switchable graphics feature should start and stay there so long as you dont restart (hibernate or shutdown is ok)

but this may not help your "auto-detect" system settings i'm afraid. i may still pick up the intel card. you will still probably need to go into Catalyst Control Centre> power settings> switchable graphics application settings> select Rome2TW.exe or Shogun2TW.exe> set as high performance.

i think he means switchable graphics/dual graphics not Xfire or SLI. one integrated card with one dedicated card.

heinz is right, for a moment I thought it was just one of asymmetric crossfire that you can do with the igpu of the amd cpu, and the dgpu (needs to be amd)

but its just a matter of the switchable gpus not working properly, he may not suffer from the underutilisation problem due to the gpu being the 6770m rebadged as the 7670m

Yes, it's about switchable graphics and not about crossfire as I thought first.
