Default Opinions and recommendations on a couple of parts.

    Hey Guys,

To keep a long story short, my X58 Sabertooth mobo is pretty much dead at this point. This has now unfortunately rendered my i7-950 unusable due to the socket being discontinued. Good news the mobo was still on warranty meaning I get about 190 euros back as the guys I bought it from cant replace it. Its at this time that I started thinking that I might as well get a new cpu. Since i'm getting 190 euros back I was thinking about getting an Asus Maximus V Gene that is essentially the same price( so its at no additional cost) and then maybe getting an i5 3570K for about 200 euros.

Any thoughts on this or any ideas how to proceed differently?
