Default Expansion DLC/MOD possibilies (WITH MAPS)

Considering that CA will probably release 1 or 2 DLC campaigns, which of the following (see options below) would you like to play the most? If you have any other campaign map ideas please post them. Hopefully we give CA and modders some idea of what the rest of the community likes and wants.

    Which is your favorite? Discuss

    --------------------------------------------

    Rise of Persia
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

Play as Cyrus the great and follow in his footsteps as you build the Persian empire.

    Alexander
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

Play as Alexander the great and follow in his footsteps as you conquer the Persian empire.

    Barbarian Invasion

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

The barbarians are at the gatess! Will you play as Rome and fight endless hordes of barbarians, or will you play as a barbarian faction and sack Rome of all her riches?

    Dark Ages
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

Rome has fallen, as Justinian will you reconquer the west or focus your attention on that oldest of empires, the Persian empire?

    Rise of Islam
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

The Roman empire has again been united, can you now defend against barbarian attacks from all directions? Perhaps instead you will choose to play as the Caliphate and wage jihad on all infidels. Deserts not your thing? Perhaps you can play as the Franks and build an empire that is both 'Holy' and 'Roman'.

    -----------------------

    Your thoughts?

I pray for Barbarian Invasion II. I want to reunite the Empire under the Rule of one Emperor and one God(following in Constantines Steps) and field my Comitatenses Legions and Cataphractii to glory!

Alexander and Barbarian invasion seem the most logical choice, but they already have done both of those for RTW. Maybe we will see some concentration on Italy in a Roman civil war scenario for a first DLC and then a bigger campaign like Barbarian Invasion.

Doubt they will do an Italy centric game now because the game's prologue already concerns Rome's war with the Samnites. They might do Greece however:

Something that focuses on Classical Greece could be interesting too, with of course an enlarged map of Greece and Western Anatolia. It makes much more sense with R2TW because you don't have to conquer all of Greece in order to win. You have the option to create confederations between city-states and you can also earn economic or cultural victories.

non of them will be the official DLC I am sure of it

    I think the best chose would be the J u l i u s C a e s a r T o t a l W a r with the Gallic campaign, Egyptian campaign, Civil War, the Rebellion of Spartacus, Wars against Mithridates and the East, British campaign etc.

The year of the four emperors

I would like to see a year of the four emperors scenario, with a turn = 2 days.
    4 emperors
    1 senate
    And the surrounding enemies.

So it would take 182 turns to train a unit? No thanks.

I've always liked Barbarian Invasion, there is even more faction diversity in that game. Rise of Islam will never ever be made.

Rise of Persia is the one I'd be the most interested in, though an improved remake of Alexander would be great too. Or perhaps something set in Classical Greece, such as a Peloponnesian Wars campaign. Then again, I think all of these scenarios should deserve a game of their own, so perhaps I'd rather have a few Roman mini-campaigns (like Caesar in Gaul, or Pompey in the East) as DLC for Rome II.

No, it's not, in the context of his campaign scenario suggestion. I wonder, did you even bother to read the rest of his idea? Because to me, it sounds like you singled out that part of his post only because you wanted to say what you did...

You know, I don't think he meant it like that.

How so? I mean, there's 2 Roman Empires, a Persian Empire, some North-African peoples such as the Berbers, a group of Celts in Ireland & Scotland, and the Huns. But the rest, it's just germanics, germanics, germanics, some more germanics, then some germanics, a few more germanics, oh and some germanics - yeah, and did I remember to include the germanics? My point here being, that's hardly something that could be called diversity. Well okay, perhaps if we compare it to later-era TW games like Napoleon or Shogun 2, yes. But Barbarian Invasions period more diverse in factions and cultures than Classical Antiquity? Hell no.

First, the Imperium Romanorum was in no way homogeneous as your post made it seem. You had clear distinction for at least 5 different areas of the Empire (Greece, Italy-Gallia, Hiberia, North Africa and the Eastern Regions). Of course, they would probably simplify it to probably two areas (Western and Eastern).
Then, you group all the germanic tribes as if they were the same, while they were not. Some were in contact with the romans for centuries, some had recently arrived in the scene.
You completely forgot about the Scythians and Sarmatians also. There's also the Gupta Empire in India.
I just can't see how is it any different than the current scenario ("greeks, greeks everywhere").
