Default Do you use save/Load a lot when you play?

Hey, I was wondering how everyone else does this, I like playing TW on hard/very hard difficulties, and if possible I play some pretty weak minor factions, so I kind of face overwhelming odds against me, this makes victory all the better

I sometimes loose some pretty important battles, and when this happens, I have a really hard time not reloading and trying again until I win the battle instead of just continueing my campaign.

So I was just wondering if you guys do this aswell or if you actually take the loss and just try something else?

I usually save a lot while playing mods. Just in case I get a corrupt game file or my game crashes.

Before battles, before declaring war, before anything really xD I guess you can call that cheating, but I really dislike making mistakes.

I save all the time, but only in case of CTDs etc. Save/loading for any other reason is pure cheating though, but really tempting to do

i save all the time, probably every turn or so, before battle and sometimes before doing an agent action as well.
I do the same with other games. like in skyrim i sometimes save after a afight, or when i come to the end of a hallway or something, just f5 all the time lol

I save a lot but this is mostly because I actually have OCD and would kick myself in the head if my game would crash and I forgot to save.

No not really. Although that is mostly because I restart when I become too powerful and just snowball through other factions. I'm hoping it won't be so easy to snowball this time.

I try not to use save/load to save me from those situations (were I lose a battle because of my mistakes) but in cases where the AI gets me really pissed off (like betraying alliances, ally attack ally) I occasionally do it.
I got the feeling that with Rome II non aggression pacts I will use it much less. In Shogun 2 the only way to avoid random declarations of war and securing a border without the use of troops was to make alliances, and you always ended up dragged into wars, when your goal was to avoid them, at least on a certain front. But, if I can make things like non aggression pacts, those situations will be less common, so I won't fell so pissed off I reload to avoid stupid wars.

Before I end every turn and before every assassination and spy mission.

Before big decisions, and before battles in case autoresolve punks me and I have to actually fight it out.

Sadly I use this too much, but mainly because of the terrible campaign movement system where I will click somewhere by accident and waste an important turn.

Other times I save/reload are assissinations of my generals during a turn or when my General gets in combat and refuses to breat contact untill GE is dead. I also do it before auto resolves incase the CPU messes up my troops.

95% of my saving and loading is because of movement.

I save regularly, but only in case of CTDs - anything else is cheating, IMO. The AI can't simply reload when it takes a skelping from you and neither should you when the AI gets a rare victory. Anyway, winning all the time is boring. I quite liked the fact that I lost my first of couple of BI WRE campaigns before I worked out a strategy. It was horrible to be vainly fighting to the death defending Rome but it made the ultimate victory so much sweeter.

Generally I save now and then but I some times have quicksave seizures for no apparent reason.

No I hardly save and I never reload. I see it as cheating somehow (my own opinion, you don't have to agree). If you lost a battle, made an error on the campaign map or you got a costly victory you need to face the consequences. This way the game is way more fun if you ask me. I usually save before I take a small break and the turn that I decide to stop playing.

I often save before epic battles, but mostly not to reload it in case I lose (well, sometimes, but thats how you learn from mistakes).
I often do it to be able to replay a massive battle with awesome troops later, kinda like a custom battle

Haha, I thought I was the only one who did this with agent actions.
So yeah, even when you've got a high ranked agent, he can still get killed while performing assassination or spy missions. I hate to lose agents so I just reaload when they get killed. I wish an agent getting killed was only a 1/100 event but you're always at risk. If it were only a failed assassination or spy mission, I'd just continue the game without reloading.
