Default Unable to boot into Windows

Yesterday I came home to find that I was unable to boot into Windows. What I mean is that I get to the blue log in screen (although that's all there is) and then it just reboots. We've made sure the video card is secure and ran a CHKDSK off the setup disc but we haven't succeeded in anything.

I'm currently using Windows 2000. I will supply any other hardware information if needed.

I've had that happen to me too before. Ultimately, I just ended up reformatting my hard drive and reinstalling Windows

You have tried Safe mode right?

Well yeah, I've tried Safe Mode, VGA Mode, Debugging Mode, Last Known Good Configuration and nothing works.

EDIT - When we went to repair the installation and rebooted we received the Inaccessible Device Driver error and it was 'asacpi.sys'. From the motherboard. Going to see about reinstalling those drivers.

You get no error messages at all? Any sequences of beeps (or any beeps at all?)?

None. We reinstalled Windows though and upon startup received the STOP error. We're taking it to the shop tomorrow, there's nothing else we can do.

Well if you don't even get a single beep or error message, my guess is that your motherboard is dead.

Are you sure? Because my experiences with motherboards is that you get no picture at all, the monitor light stays orange. Instead when we go into BIOS we were able to record temperatures and like I said before we went past the boot process. I used the Ubuntu Live CD and it worked fine.
