    Default Historical Battles

I was wondering if somebody already knows which historical battles will be available in Rome II. I've been looking for information about them but I can't seem to find any...

    The ones I know of:
    -Battle of the Nile
    -Battle of Teutoburg Forest
    -Seige of Carthage

Can anybody add something to this list? I'm really curious about these battles.

Thanks to the Hannibal trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aWZCfdDW4NQ
and the fact that his battles are legendary, I think it very likely that one or more of the following will be included:

    -Battle of the River Trebia
    -Battle of Lake Trasimene
    -Battle of Cannae
    Which he won

    and

    -Battle of Zama
    which he lost

I don't remember there being much info on these actually. They used to be quite a prominent and talked about feature, back in the days of Rome Total War and even Medieval 2. But they seem to have diminished in importance (at least in CA's opinion) and I think they've been getting fewer and fewer in number with each successive instalment, which I think is a shame. I couldn't believe it when I started up Shogun 2 and saw there were about 3 battles...

Anyway, I think the Rome era is the best for historical battles in many ways, and from Hannibal's campaign in Italy alone there are 3 that would be great fun. I think Lake Trasimene was in the original Rome and was good fun I remember. I guess we'll just have to wait and see if there are any more in Rome 2 but I for one hope there are...

Well if Thermopylae IS included, then they sure as Hell should include Marathon. You know, the battle/ victory that actually determined whether Western civilisation had the right to survive and prosper over the East. Thermopylae was little more than a gangbang in a canyon compared to Marathon.

Gangbang...ha. That's funny because the day before all the Spartans died, they bathed themselves AND EACHOTHER in oils in front of the Persian army all NEKKED and what not. I think gangbang is a little too literal for me

Lets be honest with ourselves here, battles Like Marathon and Alesia and Cannae etc may be well known to people who like history, but the average user wont have a clue, Thermopylae will have to be included we all know it.

I really hope Actium is in there at least.

In all honesty, they should do alot of battles and divide them into eras and wars. As such:
    The Punic Wars
    -Lipari Islands
    -Agrigentum
    -Sanguntum
    -Trebia
    -Cannae
    -Zama
    -Siege of Carthage
and so on and so forth but of course for all major sections of ancient world. You know, from the Egyptian Old Kingdom to the Trojan War and ending in 451 at Chalons. DLC maybe for that extensive...

Hopefully we can get close to 10 historical battles upon release, or a couple extra with each culture pack released that have to do with the particular factions in each pack.

    History!?!

Rome isn't about history! It's about fun! Therefore we should have only the funnest of made up battles!

I demand Romans vs. Samurai! I want the Battle of Quebec in 213 BC! History is bad and will make the game sell badly!

I think it'd be awesome to see the Battle of Alesia or just a partial bit of the battlefield it covered (which would be more suitable for Rome II) than the actual battle as it wouldn't be represented correctly in-game.

Even so I'd like to see some of it in a historical battle.
