    Default Residence of Aristocles

The ancestral home of Aristocles. Inherited by his father from his mother, this home was not exactly grand. Yet it was home when their fortunes looked bleak. Perhaps someday they would have the fortune of an abode of peace and beauty to pass on to their line.

    Inhabitants - Aristocles, Patriarch.
    Age: 51

    - Alexias
    Age: 26

    - Lysandros
    Age: 19

    Possessions
    Alexias' Hoplite Armor(Athenian)
    +2 protection, +2 combat, +1 mobility

Aristocles was deep in thought. He barely notices the servant bringing his friend inside.

"Greetings Aristocles." The One Eye growls. "How does this day find you?"

    Aristocles looks up.
Fine day. Alexias is leaving for campaign. And I think I shall leave too, to Corinth for the spy mission. I am anyways old enough to be fearless of danger.

"Then I am glad I found you before you left. You are the Archon, your place is here. As it happens I have found us a spy. Young Nikomedes son of Nicanor has volunteered to go. You might wish to speak with him before he leaves."

    Aristocles rises.
Wait! He is still young and has no experience of the cunning Corinthians. I have decided to go, and he can accompany me if he wishes. You my friend, must call an election for Archon. Defend Athens at all cost and guide the Archon whoever that might be.

"It shall be done. You will still be able to speak with Nikomedes, the man has not left yet." Thermistocles replies. "There were some other things I needed to speak with you of. Apparantly there is deadlock between my son and Xenophon over what to do with the campaign in Macedon. This is not good. As Archon, at least for a short while longer, you have the deciding vote over what to do with the army of mercenaries you hired for them both. Have you decided yet?" The grizzled man asks. "Whether or not you agree with my son, something must be done. We have paid for mercenaries to sit idle."

    Aristocles groans.
Your son doesn't understand why I sent him there. Xenophon needs someone to counsel so he doesn't get carried away. Besides, the mercenaries have arrived in Thessaly. The Thessalonians are actually bewildered why no one has come to atleast take charge of the mercenaries. I have actually given leave for the two commanders to decide their course.

    He gets up to leave.
Tell Nicomedes to meet me at the north gate. We are leaving for Corinth now.

Aristocles nods to the servant who brings a bag and hands to him.
Here you go, I wish you the best. And now, do hurry and summon Nicomedes. Time is of essence. Then, you must call the election.

Aristocles places a hand on his shoulder.
Farewell, and I wish you heath to bring prosperity to our city.

"Yes. May Hermes speed your way." Thermistocles replies, absently. His old friend's eagerness to be away and his speed to lay aside his burdens troubles him.
